Losing a loved one, whether it’s your spouse, partner, grandparents, friends, or a pet, can be an incredibly challenging experience. We understand that the emotions associated with grief and loss can leave you feeling unfocused and make it difficult to continue with your daily routine. It’s not uncommon to feel like you wish time would just stop so you could process your thoughts and feelings properly.
Our team of compassionate professionals is here to help you through this difficult time so that you can move forward in a healthy and productive way. Our therapists are trained to provide a safe and empathic environment where you can express your emotions openly and work towards meaningful growth. No matter what your experience with loss may be, we are here to help you cope and heal.
While it is common to resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as excessive drinking, we believe in taking a more helpful approach. Our goal is to help clients grieve and process their emotions in a healthy and useful manner.
We understand that simply ignoring or dismissing grief can lead to long-term problems. Our team of mental health professionals is experienced in providing online therapy services to help clients through their grief in a safe and supportive environment.
"Will This Pain Ever Go Away?"
This is a question that mental health therapists are often asked, and it can be quite a painful thing. Grief and loss are a time of intense emotions, and you might find yourself thinking that you will never experience happiness again. Our skilled therapist is here to show you that’s not true! You will feel your emotions without judgement in a safe space while rediscovering your sense of being with the loss in a different way. We want you to enjoy your walks in the park, the sound of music, and being around others whom you adore.
With some help, you will experience all the joys of life again.
Below, we are sharing the stages of grief for you to read through and identify if any of these impact you. We also note that people, oftentimes, experience the stages of grief in a non-linear fashion. This means we don’t experience the stages in a one-directional manner, but rather in a more complex way.
Stages of Grief
1. Denial
Denial is when your mind simply can’t accept that such a thing could happen. The pain of loss is such that people try their best to find a way to stop it, even if that means living in denial about the loss.
2. Anger
Anger, another perfectly okay reaction of grief. This is when you realize you may be experiencing anger about the loss that you have encountered.
Velour MHC focuses on offering compassionate and confidential telemental health therapy through it all, helping you form healthy strategies to cope with anger.
3. Bargaining
Bargaining, this is when you try to find any way to stop your pain. This could include bargaining with a higher power, yearning for a lost loved one, and searching for any means to erase your grief.
4. Depression and despair
Oftentimes, people settle into an environment of despair as their anger and denial slip away. They acknowledge their loss and face an onslaught of extreme sadness over it. Velour MHC helps you through this difficult time by being your online shoulder of support.
Our telehealth therapy for grief allows you to move into healing from the complications that arise from grief and loss, so you can return to your regular life’s activities that once brought you immense joy.
5. Acceptance
Now, we are at the stage of acceptance. This is when you accept the loss and try to navigate through life as you allow yourself to feel and be in the present moments of your life. This doesn’t mean it stops hurting or you don’t feel the loss anymore. Acceptance can sometimes mean that you have accepted the loss in your present life in a way that still lets you thrive.
